To see a complete list of services and to learn more about open access, please visit the UofT Libraries Scholarly Communications and Copyright Office, (SCCO) where you will find current information on services and contact information for extra help. Here are a few open access facts that are relevant for researchers in dentistry:
Tri-Agency Open Access Policy on Publications
Grant recipients of the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) should familiarize themselves with the Try-Agency Open Access Policy on Publications.
You can find more information on the UofT Libraries' page on the policy.
Publishing Discounts for UofT Faculty
The University of Toronto Libraries negotiates with publishers for author discounts. Please check the SCCO website for the latest discounts.
The University of Toronto has signed on to participate in a two-year open access agreement with Wiley through the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN). Through the agreement, effective January 15, 2023, U of T researchers may now publish their research immediately under an open access license without having to pay for Article Processing Charges (APC) in Wiley hybrid journals. Some of the dental titles included in this Wiley agreement can be found here.
