Fall 2024 Workshop Series

The Dentistry Library staff will offer open workshops in October and November. If you see a workshop that you are interested in, please click on Register beside the date of preference. Please note that each workshops has one in-person and one online event. Please ensure that you register for the correct workshop. You should receive an email confirmation with details of the workshop and when applicable, the Zoom login details. If you have any questions, please email maria.zych@dentistry.utoronto.ca   

EndNote Web

In this workshop you will learn: How to create an account with EndNote Web; How to create and share Groups; How to import citations from Ovid Databases and Web of Science; How to make citation lists, and How to download and generate bibliographies using Cite While you Write (CWYW).

In this workshop you will learn how to create a library, create and manage groups, import citations from different databases, remove duplications, global edits, find full-text, edit output styles, and use the EndNote plugin for MS Word to create and edit bibliographies. If time allows, we will cover importing citations into Covidence or Excel.

Zotero

In this workshop you will learn how to create a library, collections (folders), import citations to build your personal library, remove duplications, find full-text, and create a bibliography in MS Word as you write your papers. Zotero has an online sync option that allows you to access your library from anywhere without bringing your computer with you.

Metrics in Dentistry

In this workshop you will explore Scopus and Web of Science to discover citation metrics, such as the most cited articles in a specific topic. We will cover author searches and explore h-index, Journal Impact Factors, and interdisciplinary metrics.

In addition to the above workshops,  the University of Toronto (UofT) Libraries, offer a variety of synchronous and asynchronous workshops, where you can learn at your own pace in the preferred format.
