Fall 2025 Workshop Series

Staff at the Dentistry Library are offering a series of online and in-person workshops to support teaching, learning and research at the Faculty of Dentistry. Below is a list of workshops offered in the Fall 2025 term. Please also note that you can contact us at library.dentistry@utoronto.ca to set up a one-on-one consultation with a librarian via Zoom. In addition to these workshops, the University of Toronto (UofT) Libraries, offer a variety of synchronous and asynchronous workshops, where you can learn at your own pace in the preferred format.  

Please note: the in-person workshops will be held at the Dentistry Library (124 Edward Street, Room 267). The Dentistry building is FOB access only, so you will have to call the information desk at 416-864-8211 upon arrival for someone to let you in. 

EndNote Basic  

In this workshop you will learn: How to create an account with EndNote Basic; How to create and share Groups; How to import citations from Ovid Databases and Web of Science; How to make citation lists, and How to download and generate bibliographies using Cite While you Write (CWYW).

Zotero 

In this workshop you will learn how to create a library, collections (folders), import citations to build your personal library, remove duplications, find full-text, and create a bibliography in MS Word as you write your papers. Zotero has an online sync option that allows you to access your library from anywhere without bringing your computer with you.

MEDLINE – PubMed 

This is an introduction to advanced searching using the PubMed interface. In this workshop we will cover searching with MeSH terms and filters, creating an account and saving the search, creating an alert, and exporting citations for better management. In addition we will explore the new AI embedded PubMed tools such as Find Best Match and MeSH on Demand.

Advanced searching for dental literature 

Are you writing a knowledge synthesis for a dental topic? This workshop will guide you in selecting the correct guidelines for your methodology (systematic review, scoping review, umbrella review, etc.), selecting appropriate databases for a dental topic, and conducting a comprehensive search.
