The Dentistry Library will be offering a series of workshops during the month of May. Below you can find workshop details and registration information. 

 

Research Data Management: 

Do you wish you spent less time managing your research data, and more time on your research? This short workshop provides basic strategies for managing research data efficiently. Topics include: organizing and naming files, strategies for data storage, data security and backups, documentation, and file formats for long-term access.

Introduction to IBM SPSS: 

This workshop provides an introduction to using SPSS to perform common data management and basic statistical analysis tasks. Participants will work through hands-on exercises in SPSS, and will learn to import spreadsheets, manage and edit data, create charts and other visualizations, and run descriptive statistical tests. Note: this workshop will not cover advanced statistical concepts, but participants will be provided with suggested resources for additional skills development.

Introduction to PubMed: 

This workshop provides an introduction to searching PubMed for information in the health sciences. Through hands-on activities, participants will learn how to perform basic keyword searches, use MeSH terms, build advanced searches, filter and save their search, and retrieve full-text versions of articles.

EndNote X7 Advanced: 

In this workshop you will learn how to create a library, create and manage groups, import citations from different databases, remove duplications, find full-text, edit output styles, and use the EndNote plugin for MS Word to create and edit bibliographies.

Join us for this brief introduction to Mendeley, a reference manager and academic social network that allows you to organize your references across multiple devices, automatically generate bibliographies, and share references with collaborators online.
